Duct leakage test numbers are not just for code inspectors. The fan measures how much air it has to move to hold that 25 Pascal pressure. That airflow is your CFM25 number, short for cubic feet per minute at 25 Pascals. The higher the CFM25, the more leaky the duct system.

  • Ducts tested with the air handler blocked off

Including the air handler can show leaks around the unit itself. Blocking it off focuses more on the ductwork. Both give useful information, but the results are read a bit differently.
